Montepulciano Abruzzo "Aldiano"

Location of vineyards: Tollo, Bucchianico, Abruzzo.

Grape variety: Montepulciano 100% .

Age of vines: 20/25 years old.

Ageing process: 12 months in Slavonian oaks (70%) and in barriques (30%) Six months in bottles.

Alcohol content: 13,5 % by volume.

Color: rich ruby red with purplish highlights.

Taste: Montepulciano is always a fruity wine with naturally soft tannins. It is generally deep ruby red in color, and to the nose it has hints of cherry, nutmeg, cinnamon and almonds.
This wine is delightful on the palate, and those who taste it will discover plum, blackberry, raspberry and marasca cherry. .

Information:
Despite the name, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is in no way linked with the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
The Tuscan wine is named for the town, while that of the Abruzzi bears the same name as the variety, which predominates in the grape mixture from which it is made.
The variety was developed through selection by the growers and it displayed significant capacity for adaptation to different environments, which facilitated its spread to other territories nearby.

Food to serve with: strongly-flavoured pasta dishes with tomato sauce, roast meats and various semi-mature cheese.
