Ageing: The aging process however is very new style with a mix of new French barrels and Slovenian barrels for the 3 years required for Barolo.

Production:5,000 bottles.

Taste:The wine has a bright black cherry taste with rose petals, saddle leather and spicy tobacco notes. Plum and licorice aromas with dried roses follow through to a full-bodied palate, with chewy tannins and a long finish.
Cedar and mushroom character with ripe fruit. Solid and poised.

Description:
The Palladino story centers around the ability to not only grow perfect fruit in the Serralunga commune of Barolo, from 3 small single vinyards.
This boutique winery produces a total of only 5,000 cases per year.

Palladino winery is one of the oldest in serralunga d'alba, dating back to 1870. the present generation has completely restored and remodeled the old establishment, including the installation of the most advanced cellar equipment.
Separate cellars have been added to age the barolo wines which ages and matures in oak casks and barriques of 225 liters for up to 5 years.

Made from the Nebbiolo grape, is a wonderful accompaniment for roasted meats and strong cheeses.

Barolois a DOCG wine from the villages of Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d'Alba, La Morra, Monforte d'Alba, Verduno and parts of other communes.

Lots of licorice, plum and mushroom character on the nose and palate. Full bodied with velvet tannins and a long, long finish. Compacted and concentrated. Best after 2007. 900 cases made. ~ J.S.
